The following steps should be followed while checking whether your kid has an infection.
1. Check if their body temperature is normal or high. It can also be used as symptom to check whether they might have an illness.
2. If it is normal, you can also ask them to share whether they feel heavy or lightheaded and if they had any nausea or vomiting. This would prove that they haven't been ill recently. Also ask them whether they had a fever recently and if there are any other symptoms.
3. Ask them about their rash, body aches, and cough and if you get these symptoms then you must take a PCR Test. You must know how many people you have come into contact with recently because this may lead to some unwanted surprises.
4. Get them checked by your doctor if there is swelling, redness, pain in upper abdomen, headache or fever. They have to make sure everything has all been ruled out.
5. Once you know that they don’t have Covid, do not panic, but use common sense and carry on with hygiene practices. Ensure that they have gone over the precautions such as wearing masks, hand washing, social distancing. Make sure that they maintain cleanliness and keep away from infected areas and avoid crowded places.
6. Know if they have lost weight and go over diet and nutrition plans with doctors. Remember that proper nutrition comes with immunity and good immune system will aid in fighting off infections. Also avoid consuming tobacco products as they contain nicotine and can increase germs' chances of becoming susceptible to infections.

Washing hands after passing food and touching your mouth or eyes can transfer germs. Moreover, if you sneeze or blow your nose, chances of infecting yourself increases manifold. Always wash your hands well with soap before eating or handling food items.
Washing hands with soap and water and drying them thoroughly thoroughly is one of the effective ways to protect us from transmission of colds. There are certain situations where your kids are prone to getting cold easily. These include:
1. Hot weather- Many children get colds at night when the weather is too hot. So always wear plenty of clothes. When playing, ensure that both parents wear appropriate layers so as to provide warmth.
2. Dusty air- Frequent dustings, especially during winter, can cause severe cold. Keeping indoor spaces clean and disinfected is advisable. Use sanitisers to wipe down surfaces regularly. Try to wipe your children’s hands frequently.
3. Cold storage- Poorly stored food and drinks are known to cause cold. Such things can reduce immunity. Food and beverages to give to infants need to meet certain guidelines. Do not forget to refrigerate them properly.
4. Bad habits- Smoking and excessive consumption of alcohol can directly contribute to colds. Be careful about smoking and consumption of alcoholic beverages. Wash your hands regularly.
5. Neglectful care - Children and teenagers who live with adults need ample attention by them. While taking their medicines, eat them by themselves when not supervised. Similarly, avoid sharing of utensils and towels among families.
6. Exposure- Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should always be extra vigilant about their health. Practice hygiene as mentioned above.
7. Age- The elderly need special consideration during childhood. They don’t have enough immunity. Hence, they tend to suffer severely due to poor nutrition. Their immune system declines rapidly. Therefore, it is advised to limit their intake of unhealthy foods.
8. Environment- Children exposed to loud noises may develop ear infections. Noise-canceling headphones could be beneficial for reducing noise exposure during play sessions or lessons.
9. Environmental pollutants- During summer, some pets may suffer from sudden death syndrome due to heat stroke. People should be extra cautious about this. Cleaning up animals' habitats can prevent accidental deaths and bring relief.
10. Sickness - Some patients require close monitoring for early diagnosis and treatment. Parents should refrain from unnecessary visits to hospitals.
11. Lack of exercise - Due to their age, adults should be more patient and consider the same in children. Too much enthusiasm to engage in sports with friends and children and spending too much time outdoors cause low oxygen levels, leading to severe ailments. Regular exercises keep the immune system fit and active, thus improving its efficiency.
12. Stress- Poor feeding habits, frequent sickness and frequent usage of antibiotics can weaken the immune system. Kids don’t have immunity against various illnesses in the absence of regular daily food. Even a cold can affect their minds negatively. Instead, seek help from medical experts when suffering from any kind of ailment.
13. Eating disorders- Medication prescribed for psychiatric issues, such as antidepressants, anxiety disorder, and insomnia can lower the effectiveness of immunization. Seek expert advice before starting medication for such diseases.
14. Obesity - Consuming fatty food, sweets, sugar-sweetened beverages, and junk foods can harm the body, increasing susceptibility toward infections. Eat balanced meals instead of sugary ones to promote good health.
15. Chemicals in drugs- Chemicals in medications like barbiturates and paracetamol and anti-infective drugs like azithromycin can damage human cells and trigger allergic reactions. Avoid drug interactions,
including those containing aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), naproxen sodium, phenobarbital, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, cimetidine, diphenhydramine, amoxapine (Lemtrexa).
16. Alcohol consumption - Drinking wine every day is associated with increased risks of coronary artery disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, dementia, and osteoporosis. Ex
